Prospectus of the Chinese Language Associate Degree Program Capital Normal University

I. Brief Introduction

The College of International Education of Capital Normal University has integrated high-quality educational resources and is now launching the Chinese language associate degree program. This major has two training directions: Chinese Language and Culture and Professional Chinese. International students can be recruited in spring semester and fall semester.

This major aims to better cultivate talents with high level of Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, good basic knowledge and theoretical accomplishments of Chinese language, and capable of cross-cultural communication, Chinese-foreign translation, international economy and trade, tourism and other related work.

The length of schooling is 2 years and the duration of study can be 2 to 3 years.

During the two-year study, students can choose to register classroom-based teaching in China, or they can choose a combination of remote online and classroom-based teaching according to their personal wishes and objective conditions. If students choose the latter, they must register and accept classroom-based teaching in China for at least one semester per academic year.

The students who have completed the credits stipulated in the training plan and passed the HSK level 5 with a minimum score of 180 will be allowed to graduate and will be awarded graduation certificate.

 

II. Eligibility

1. Foreign citizens in good health.

2. Applicants shall hold a senior high school diploma.

 

. Curriculum

The full credit for Chinese Language and Culture direction is 84 credits, including 80 credits for course teaching and 4 credits for practical teaching. The 80 credits for course teaching include 8 credits for general courses, 36 credits for professional core courses and 36 credits for professional basic courses. The internship practice is scheduled to be completed in the 4th semester.

The full credit for professional Chinese direction is 92 credits, including 88 credits for required courses and 4 credits for practical teaching. Course teaching credits include: 4 credits for general courses, 60 credits for professional basic courses and 24 credits for professional core courses. The credits for practical teaching are 4 credits. The internship practice is scheduled to be completed in the 4th semester.

                                           

Application Procedure

1. Log in the registration system for international students of CNU: https://cnu.17gz.org/. After successful registration, fill in the registration information and upload the application materials as required, including passports, high school graduation certificates, high school transcripts and other materials.

2. After passing the application check, students will pay the registration fee online. Once the application fee is paid, it will not be refunded.

3. After the applicant is admitted, the student will go to the Chinese embassy or consulate in the home country to apply for a student visa in China (X1 or X2 visa) with the admission notice and JW202 form.

 

Ⅴ Tuition Fee

 Application Fee: 450 Yuan, Tuition Fee: 11800 Yuan/semester.

 

Ⅵ Scholarship Policy

Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship is available for students who meet the standards during the study at CNU.
